Red Sweater
The Red Sweater
This carefully knitted sweater
Its red wool comes from the lamb
It keeps me warm, and not to mention
Tells me who I am.
I can’t remove it, I dare not lose it,
Or let another take it.
For without it, I do not doubt it
My chest will then be naked.
The holes within my sweater
Tell so many different stories
Some come from pain, some come from fear
But none of them from glory
It makes me say what’s on my mind
I think its just the wool
That makes me stand out, make me shine
Of love it is so full
