My Rupert The Bear

When I was just a slip of a girl
I remember one Birthday so well in my mind
not having an interest in playing with dolls
teddy bears I loved ,the cuddly kind,

The Clydesdale

The days are long and the nights are short
with the toss of his head and a friendly snort
the Clydesdale horse so steadfast and strong
in his masters eyes he can do no wrong.

The Ghost Galleon

The galleon sales to the America`s
with a cargo of slaves to be sold,
all chained tattooed and tethered
deep down in the galleons hold.

For the Galleon was a live ship

How Calm Is The Lake

As the evening draws near one fine day
I sit by the lake to watch and listen,
at sounds that delight my inner calm
to watch the waters ripple and glisten.

Stormy Waters

Loud the north wind does roar
violent waves against the shore
crashing up against the rocks
seagulls inland go in flocks.

Storm at sea all ships in motion
alert against the raging ocean

Eighteenth Century Rock

I had a funny dream last night, travelling back years and years

In an eighteenth century ballroom, and I was bored to tears,

There were women fanning fans and wearing wigs and bustles

Another Chance

A voice carried as the hurricane blew
God forgive them for they know not what they do

Trees once stood.a long time ago

Forget- me -not

Once on this Earth .a long time ago

In days gone by a handsome lad

leading a cow and her calf.

Fiddle dee diddle Fiddle I do
diddle dum diddle I dee,

The Heatwave Begins

It`s going to be hot, hot, hot
the weather man informed,
for once he is right

Get yourself Out, Out Out
to make the most of it
Bikini`s on the ready

Way Back Then

In a place near Glasgow City
many. many years ago
where rows of tennement houses.
once stood there all in a row.

with only two rooms and a kitchen
and the privy in yard out back,

Past And Present

In the not so distance past
when a womans work was harder,
her clothes were sewn to last
home made produce in the larder.

The laundry scrubbed so clean
on a washing board with soap,

Chichester To Goodwood

From Chichester to Goodwood we all biked
Mum.Aunt Peggy my brother and me
Off for a picnic with the goodies we liked
In a bluebell glade we chose to be .

The Rainbow`s End

A rainbow arched across the sky
when we were but kids at play,
the wonder of it pleased the eye
`twas on a rain and sunny day.

We heard tell at the rainbows end

The Evening Primrose

A warm dry summer evening
when the dusk starts to loom,
there in the garden grows a gem
where evening primroses bloom.

They brighten up the evening
a stunning translucent gold,
