A tiny ant there in the earth
was as busy as can be,
running here and running there
back and forth ran she.

Carrying a load twice her size
of grubs back to her nest,
to her colonies ant hill home
with undying vigour and zest.

A lazy toad came ambling by
on a large rock he sat,
hello there my little friend
please stop and have a chat

Little termite why the rush
and why so heavy a load,
too much for one so small
come have a rest said Toad .

Ant knew what Toad was at
was small but none too thick,
toads eat ants she did know
he was up to a wily trick.

Much too busy said the ant
I cannot stop just yet
for the hurrier that I go
the behinder I wont get .
