Geronimo The Brave
The Apache brave stood strong and tall
he was the greatest of them all
for love and loyalty to his Indian race
as he rode to war , with painted face.
He fought for Arizona his tribes own land
his name Geronimo he led the band
there were plenty wounded blood did flow
but he rode on with arrow and bow.
It was their home, it was their right ,
but still they lost the bloody fight ,
a conditional surrender to General George Crook
as it explains in the history book.
They took him away from his dwelling place
Geronimo along with his Chiricahua race
to obey the laws of the Generals men
signed and sealed by a feather quill pen.
Then promised he`d return after two years
to a peaceful reservation with no more fears,
they broke that promise , the white man lied
a prisoner for twenty years before he died .
It`s said thats how the West was won
with bow and arrow, against fearful gun
but Geronimo`s spirit will stay alive
for the Apache nation that now survive.

N1ce Poem Wills'
I just watched that movie on AMC about him~B.E.Coast
thankyou Bryce
yes it was a good film.
I have a deep respect for the American Indian ,or any native in fact,
I have a Maori pen pal and they lived much the same as the American Indians I learned a lot from her,
she is even teaching me to speak Maori which is interesting.
Noho ora mai i roto to whare maha
no to hoa i roto a ingarangi.
(stay well in your warm safe house,
your friend in England.)
