Lobster In A Stew
I`m an oversized deep sea lobster
Oh! no not the lobster pot please
I`m by no means a fishy mobster
for I have swam the seven seas,
there are prawns out there and crabs
do you have to victimize me
Or even sole, cod, and dabs
why not have them for your tea,
dont take me from my Lobster bed
dont dress me in a shroud
dont boil me `til my shell turns red
nor make me squeal out loud,
wont you please untie my claws
throw me back into the sea
far away from human jaws
forever to be free.
Now if you see a Lobster laid out on a platter
just turn up your nose and go for Cod in batter.

Brilliant
brilliant, a comic poem thats intelligently written & perfectly climaxed, although i must say it reminds me a bit of something you'd read on a card but i cant imagine what kind of card that would be.
This is my first poem off yours i've read so im going to go read some more, hopefully i'll be typing something so positive the next time i comment, i suspect i will.
Well done

thanks for your kind words Joyce I have never cooked lobster nor tasted it I have eaten crab which I love though yes I suspect it would be easier to eat it out rather than hear the poor thing squeal

hilarious, willow!
I love your humor! I have cooked lobsters before and heard them squeal. I haven't done it in a long time, much easier to order lobster salad in a restaurant.
Thanks for a good laugh.
