The Awakening Of The Dawn

Oh to arise at the break of dawn
at the start of summer days,
while the dews still wet on the lawn
before the hot suns rays.

To watch the Geese fly in formation
a beautiful graceful flight,
Is one of natures finest creations
and a most spectacular sight .

To hear the first song of the lark
the cuckoo and the dove,
the woodpecker tapping off the bark
from the trunk of a tree above .

The call of a distant vixens bay
on the start of a sunlit morn,
telling all who pass that way
her cubs have just been born.

Mushrooms peeping through the ground
welcoming in the new day,
creamy white caps there to be found
before their taken away.

No It`s not for me to stay in bed
for the wakening of the dawn,
I would rather be out and about instead
to run with the deer and her fawn.
