The Lavender Fairy

One summer`s day in a garden wild

when I was all but a child

while idly passing time away

I spotted a fairy alone at play

amidst the lavender bush nearby

with wings just like the butterfly,

a lavender blue dress she did wear

with a lavender fragrance in her hair

she turned to me and with a smile

asked if I would stay awhile,

"Im the lavender fairy , and here I play

I come here almost every day

but when the sky does turn to rain

I disappear and come back again,"

she had a bag of yellow dust

"With this to fill the flowers I must

it`s pollen for the busy bee

to help make his honey you see,"

a spot of rain fell on her nose

with outstretched wings she slowly rose

waving a tiny little hand

as she flew home to fairyland.

Very sweet

Willow

You should recreate this poem into a child's picture or plaque. I bet it would do really well.
