Roses in June are a wondrous sight
their pretty velvet petals sublime
casts a spell to all that savours
heavenly scent in their sweet prime .

With hues of red , yellow and white.
The sweet briar and the rambler
are such a lovely welcoming sight
a perfect vision for the ambler.

Natures protection there on the stem
says dont pick me or I will scorn
gowing there with spikes so long
threatening and endowed with thorns.
