Winter Rose
Flowers are waking
Stretching out petals
Deep breaths they are taking
As springtime settles
Winter melts 'way
It never can last
But now the birds stay
'Till snow is forcast
When the snow shall then fall
Winter rose will then bloom
The winter needs it more
To bring life to the gloom.

Unusual ending, I like how you ended this write, yet you still
make the winter's rose beautiful in the previous stanzas! The
ending gives this piece an interesting jolt!

oldaspirations--I'm glad you think the ending was good. I don't really consider this one of my better poems, because I don't think I'm good at rhyming (I'm better at just freestyle), but it seems it was mildly enjoyable to some people =]. Thank you for that.
drmvalley--You, yourself, are a very nice person. In the things that you write, your gentle soul seems to reach out and try to change the world and inspire. That is a very admirable.

I'm very glad that you liked the rhythm and flow of this, jh88. I actually came up with it for a short story I was writing, and I needed just a little blurb of a poem, and I just scribbled this one down, minus the part about Winter Rose--that I added later. I think it's a bit weak and doesn't have a very strong flow, but I am pleased that you appreciate it none the less =]. Thanks for the comment.

Oh, drmvalley!
drmvalley! I am afraid tj was speaking to ~me~ in that message....the way the messaging works is that once you comment on a poem, you are subscribed to that particular poem, meaning that every time there is a new comment, it is sent to you via email. This does not mean the comments are addressed to you, but to the writer (usually). You are just sent the comments to see what other readers had to think of the poem that you also commented on. Understand? It took me awhile to understand, too. You can always find out what poem the comment is from by following the link given at the bottom of the email with the comment.
If it makes any difference, I would love to read your short story =]. I do not believe you can post it here, but there are plenty of sites out there that would allow you to. You can just redirect your poetry fans to that other website by posting your link in your profile. If you want any help finding a site, I'll gladly assist. I am eager to see what your story was about =].

Oh, tj...You are such a nice person =] I am pleased and honored beyond words at the comments you have given me. The short story I was writing was actually for a contest, but it didn't win anything. I don't have any short stories posted online, except fanfictions. I am proud to admit that I am a Harry Potter fanatic, and I belong to fanfiction.net, where I use Harry Potter characters and past histories to write new plots. I have written three short romance stories using Harry and Ginny, and one continuous fic that I haven't finished concerning Harry during the summer. Fanfictions are a lot of fun to read and write, and if you haven't read any already, I highly recommend it. Fanfictions are easier to write than regular stories because they come with back stories already and partially to fully developed characters. It's tons of fun. If you want to read some of my writings, I am currently writing there under the name of Time Vortex, though I really should change it to Winter Rose (I like this one much better =] ).
Other short stories have turned out very weak and have been discarded, but I am considering writing one...If you have any ideas, I'm all ears =]. Thank you for your interest and concern.

Many questions I need to ask before I go any further. First, the opening tells me to DOWNLOAD
Open Office 2.3.1 for PC's or Neo Office. 2.2.2 for
Macs. Should I download and is it safe to do so?
A search of Harry Potter turned up nothing by author Time Vortex. And searching for Time Vortex turned up nothing for Harry Potter.
Is there possibly a title you can give me that might help. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I simply cannot find your work.
