Raining Pain

Raining Pain

Is this a smile cross my face or just the pain
When the sun is darkened by the hail
Or is it somehow simply rain

Time moves like a burdened train
Its steam a fading trail
Is this a smile cross my face or just the pain

Friends slip through my hand to leave a stain
Their memories slowly fail
Or is it somehow simply rain

Lovers pass to and fro like a large commuter plane
Most passing long before the sun sets sail
Is this a smile cross my face or just the pain

My body ages quickly and yet death will not refrain
This timeless face a burning wick behind a veil
Or is it somehow simply rain

Life is juggling pins between the plateau and the plain
It’s fragile skin so delicate and frail
Is this a smile cross my face or just the pain
Or is it somehow simply rain
