cute, run with the idea a bit more
Talking about your shadow is such a nice idea, but it is overused. Still yet, I thought it was cute. The last two lines made it for me. "if it were to start spending its days/with another." goes into a deeper meaning. Go for another poem about how it would feel to have your own shadow leave you. It would include all of these feelings, but have such a more deeper idea and dependency.
