War - Thank You America
The women sit behind the barred fence
Watching with horror as their loved ones die
Every male over twelve
In a line, waiting for the sniper to fire.
The women, tears streaking down their faces
The concentration camps their own home
Are forced to watched, or else raped and killed
Their husbands, brothers, children die.
This, as painful as anything will ever be, is most certainly not the end
Not yet…it’s the women that are victims next.
Gassed, raped, starved to death, it didn’t really matter…
But those who survived to live to tell
Say they felt “It was as if it was a walk through Hell”
100,000 people dead…none deserved to be killed.
The Serbian Government promised better lives, and of course Serbs were thrilled
“Eliminate the Muslims, we shall take their land!” the dictator rose more hope, into young innocent Serb hearts
"Once the Muslims had passed on, their blood soaking the Earth"
Allah up there, he had his reasons, it was their last shred of faith to believe.
Families that were Christian that had survived World War Two
Had to face the men with masks that the dictator forced them to
Maybe some soliders really didn’t want the others to die
Maybe some were their family…but they had no choice…
The Massacre would happen now.
July 15th, 1992…over 40,000 people murdered within a week
Hope and faith were looking bleak
Where was that God, why wasn’t he there to protect them
Why didn’t he stop the Serbs and save them
But war soon ended, leaving cities and lives war torn
Nothing would ever change the past
Nothing would revive loved ones that were brutally taken away.
Twelve years later, Bosnian soldiers cover their sadness by a funny punch line to each story.
Twelve years later, it’s as if nothing had ever really happened.
Twelve years later, Bosnian is revived…
Nothing can take away our land
Nothing will ever change that
Thank you America, for helping us through Hell
Thank you for saving all of us, who would have died if it weren’t for you
Thank you Clinton, for sending us planes and bombs, fire arms and ammo
Thank you, God, you the hope and faith you restored in us.
We believe
This is our land
Thank you America… Thank you for your lending a helping hand.

Hell Yeah!
I liked this poem very much. There is so much War, poverty, death, hunger; atrocities in general. People seem afraid to speak their minds. Who wouldn't be? Afterall it was our own president who said, and I quote, "The Constitution is just a god**** piece of paper" <---- George W. Bush said that to the media. Later he made a public apology. I like to see someone with the guts to speak up. ...And I know some of you don't believe that, but instead of getting mad at me about it, check online. If it's gonna make ya mad, get mad at Georgie-pooh.
