Sick
I was in the store
I was feeling great
I got in the line
With no time to wait
Standing behind me
In very same line
Was a pretty gal
And she looked so fine
She said, “I know you…
You’re the man that rhymes…
My name is Mary
But call me anytime!”
Here is my number
If you want a date
But call me soon
For I hate to wait
My heart was pumping
And my face was flush
All I could say was
“Are you in a rush”
You should go ahead…
I really don’t mind
I’m in no hurry
I see your “behind”.
But I had other thoughts
Going through my head
As she passed me by
I heard nothing she said
I think she said “Thanks”
As she passed through
But as she passed me
She passed me the flu
There was no warning
No weather forecast
She sneezed in my face
It happened that fast
The next thing I knew
I was home in bed
My throat was sore
And so was my head
I went to the Doc and
Here’s what he said,
“Your throat is sore
And so is your head”
“On top of all that,
You have a fever…
I’ll have to give you
Some fever Reliever!”
The Fever reliever
Put me out for a spell
But soon after that
I was feeling well
I started to call her
But I hesitated
And still to this day
We have not dated
If you see a pretty gal
And she has to sneeze
Just run like hell or
You’ll catch her disease
