Five Short Poems about Karst

1.
My mind is karst
and your underground currents
have dissolved it.

2.
If I ever get stuck in a cave,
at least I won't freeze to death.
Karst holds my heat.

3.
What water removes
from the karst, it gives back
in slimy columns.

4.
The cavern, once a river,
sighs. The air. The air.
My breath is cautious.

5.
I live on karst. I fear one day
the bottom will fall out,
and I will live under it.
